Scripture for the Day December 28, 2018
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. (Lamentations 3:22-24)
It is amazing to me how God will minister to family members during tragedies like the loss of our daughter-in-law Kari.
The first night we were in TN after the tragedy one of our grandsons shared a story with us that was amazing. He could not sleep after the loss of his mom and we can all understand that. He was anxious and he just asked God to give him some peace. He said he temporarily slipped off to sleep and he had a dream or vision he wanted to share with us.
Our grandson said that in this dream or vision he saw a long road and he was walking down one side of this road that looked like dark pavement. He said he looked up an saw his mom walking down the opposite side of the road and that side of the road was gold in color. He said his mom just smiled at him and he immediately knew that everything was going to be fine and he had a peace from that point on and went to sleep.
We were able to confirm to our grandson that this was a real encounter and it was God’s way of showing him that his mom was fine and she was just letting him know that everything was going to be fine.
We have been through situations like this before and it is always amazing how God will reach out to the hurting and it is always in very unique ways.
Thank you Lord that your mercies are new every morning!!!
