For we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba! Father! (Daddy God!)
Romans 8:15)

By Cheryl Henderson

I have many friends who have adopted children. Each circumstance is different. Some of them could not get pregnant, others felt lead of God to adopt even though they already have children. Others adopt children in their own families where the parents are absent.  Biological children are a blessing from the Lord, but there is something very special and unique about a child who has been adopted.

Adopted children come from many different backgrounds. Many times they come from single mothers who just cannot take care of them. Some come from parents who have passed away. Some come from parents who just do not want them. Many have a spotted past and an even more questionable future.  In great love someone seeks them out and pays whatever the cost to bring them home, love them, and care for them as their own.

Doesn’t that sound like us? We were so lost in sin and Jesus sought us out, paid for us with His blood, died and rose again to bring us home, love us, care for us and give us a future!  I just love the Gospel!!

..but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba! Father! (Daddy God!)
Romans 8:15)
