Scripture for the Day (September 20, 2018)

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? (Matthew 6:26, Amplified Bible)

I recently heard a testimony of a young man that had been deep into the occult. He had spent years studying the dark side and rejecting Jesus as Creator and King of the Universe. When he finally came to Jesus something happened that brought me back to my own salvation experience 36 years ago.

This young man got on his face and repented before God. He cried out to Jesus to show him the truth and to save him. The first thing this young man saw when he got off the ground crying was some birds sitting in a tree singing their hearts out. He said he immediately recognized in his spirit that these birds were praising God. Now, you may think that’s crazy but it is very similar to what happened to me when I gave my life to the Lord.

I was on a business trip in Washington DC and I had been drinking heavily the night before I was to fly home. I got on my face that night in a motel room and asked Jesus to come into my life. I flew home the next morning. As I was driving home from the airport I noticed the trees had their limbs lifted toward the sky and the leaves were blowing in the wind. I immediately knew in my spirit that these trees were praising God.

I know that may sound crazy to some people, but it is not crazy. The Holy Spirit revealed that to me just like He revealed it to this young man. As I began to study the Word of God it became even clearer that all of nature knows who their creator is and worships Him. It is a natural thing to nature. The following are just some of the scriptures that support the fact that all creation cries out to their creator:

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (Psalms 19:1-4)

Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. (Psalms 148:1-6)

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (Romans 8:22-23)

Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these [people] keep silent, the stones will cry out [in praise]!” (Matthew 19:40, Amplified Bible)
