Scripture of The Day
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” Isaiah 55:8
I am so glad that God does not react the way we do. He is not motivated by insecurities, fear, scarcity, or the need to control. He is not easily offended, and he does not hold even our greatest moral failures against us. He does not look for ways to degrade us or to expose our secret fears.
He is better than the most loving, loyal, kindhearted, merciful, generous person we have ever known. And not just be a little; he is infinitely better. Jesus is the living example of God’s great love. His teachings astounded the wise and gave hope to the hopeless. He is full of love, healing, and restoration, and he has the power to save us. He is so much better than we can even imagine. How could we not feel hope rising, when this is reality? He is good. He is better than good!
