Proverbs 24:16: For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.(NIV)

There seems to be a common theme throughout the Word of God that if you fall or get knocked down, get back up, and arise. In fact the word arise is in the Bible 259 times. God must think getting back up is important.

Jeremiah 8:4: So you are to tell them this is what the LORD says: “Do men fall and not get up again? Does one turn away and not return?”

Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, shine; for your light has come!”

Arise means to get up or stand up. In Luke 15:18 the prodigal son, after coming to his senses, said, “I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.'”

Ephesians 5:14 says, “Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.'”

The devil wants you to stay down, but God says, “Arise!”

The greatest example of arising was Jesus himself on resurrection morning:

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. (Matthew 28:1-7)
