Scripture of The Day
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16)
Jesus is the cornerstone or foundation which we build our lives on by believing and trusting on Him and His words and acting on them.
I Peter 2:6 says, “Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion, A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.’”
The Message Bible says, “The Scriptures provide precedent: ‘Look! I’m setting a stone in Zion, a cornerstone in the place of honor. Whoever trusts in this stone as a foundation will never have cause to regret it.’”
Ephesians 2:19-20 says, “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone,”
Matthew 7:24-25 says, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”
In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said, “….and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” This was Jesus’ response to Peter after Peter’s confession that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God. That rock (foundational truth) is the revelation that plants you in the Body of Christ. We are founded on the Rock and that Rock is Jesus Christ that is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Be at peace today. He has not moved and He is not moving. Be anxious for nothing. He has not given us a Spirit of fear.
