A Nugget from New Life Network

Scripture of The Day
September 16, 2021

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm
24:9)

New Life Network is a a “Ministry to the Marketplace” and has been for 31 years. That description may seem unusual to some people because they do not even know if anything like that exists. I say that because the world has been very busy trying to eliminate any kind of reference to God in businesses, but on the other hand, there are a few people out there that have refused to let that
happen.

Our educational systems have tried to remove all references to God. That has resulted in the explosion of private Christian schools and homeschooling. Our government institutions have tried to remove God under the twisted and false interpretation of the separation of church and state but there are prayer groups and a Chaplain in the White House and Congress as we write this devotional. Many corporations have tried to remove God from all their interactions so they could be politically correct and avoid legal problems. On the other hand, some businesses have refused to go the way of the world and have created a space for God in their workplace and as a result have prospered greatly. Companies like Mary Kay Cosmetics, Hobby Lobby, Tyson Foods, and Interstate Batteries are just a few examples of corporations that have always maintained a space for God in their culture.

I heard a very powerful interview of a well-known Pastor the other day about why so many people were being healed in his church services. This Pastor said that the most important thing that he had to recognize was that he was not the healer. He said the most crucial thing for him to do was to create a space for the extravagant one (Jesus) to come and heal people. That is what we have done for the last 29 years.

We have helped businesses create a space for God through serving as Chaplains, providing a Christian book table at business functions, and offering Sunday morning services at their events. It is still amazing to me what God can do when He is given just a little bit of space. We have witnessed thousands of people saved and set free over the years and it has all been because a business leader was willing to create a space for God.

Now, I want you to apply that same logic to your personal life. Has all your personal business and hectic social and work life crowded out God? Have you created and maintained a space for God in your own life or has that space been replaced by other things? Just think about that. When you create a space for God you create a space for the miraculous. You create a space for the supernatural. You create a space for healing and answered prayer. Do you need any of that? The answer is yes, we all do!!! There is nobody out there that doesn’t have a need in some area. The answer is, and always has been, to let God in. Create a space for God in your life. He is the extravagant one that can do what you and I cannot do. He is the one that can save, heal, and deliver.
