Scripture for the Day (January 31, 2017)
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try (test) the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:1-6)
If you have been looking at the news lately you have seen people going absolutely nuts and you are probably asking yourself what in the world is going on? Well, I can tell you this, what you are witnessing is not from the Spirit of the Lord. The Word of God tells us to test the spirits. How do we do that? You do that by knowing what the Word of God says about evil spirits and comparing it to what you see happening.
One of the most evil spirits of all times was the Jezebel spirit which was resident in Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab.
But there was none like unto Ahab, who sold himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. (1 Kings 21:25)
If you read the story of King Ahab and his wife Jezebel you will get a clear picture of evil. Jezebel was a nasty woman. She was full of hate and anger. One of her prime objectives was to wipe out all the prophets of God and introduce Baal worship which included idol worship, all kinds of sexual depravity, and the sacrifice of children. She had a local landowner and his family murdered so she could give the land to her husband the King. She was so bold and vile that she even threatened the life of the Prophet Elijah.
This particular spirit is one of Satan’s most lethal nation busting demons and we better wake up to the fact that our nation is being attacked by this very same spirit. Should we be afraid? No, absolutely not!!! But we darn well need to be aware of how to fight this demon. The main goal of the Jezebel spirit is to take control of our country and wipe out any allegiance to Jesus. This is an antichrist spirit! Jesus told us about this in 1 John 4. But he also told us, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”
Now, does any of this demonic behavior sound and look similar to what we have been witnessing? You bet it does and it is time for the Body of Christ to rise up, join together, and say no more devil! You will not have our country! You will not have our government! You will not have our faith in Jesus Christ! You will not have our families! You will not have our children! It is time for Christians to tear down their denominational walls and come together like Jesus prayed for us to do. We need a nationwide movement of Christians that are willing to pray, organize, and stand for Jesus and our way of life. Are you willing to do that?
