Scripture for the Day (June 6, 2017)

Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my great strength, Who trains my hands for war And my fingers for battle; (Psalm 144:1, Amplified Bible)

It’s time for all people with common sense, all adults with rational thinking, and all true patriots to stand up and be counted. We woke up Sunday morning with reports of more attacks and more bloodshed in London, a place where they don’t even arm their street police. Are you kidding me! Listen to the reasoning why they don’t arm their police force. This comes from a recent BBC News Magazine article:

For one thing, the sheer cost of equipping all personnel with weapons as well as providing regular training would be prohibitive at a time of public spending cuts, he says. In addition, Paddick adds, front-line officers would not be keen to face the agonising, split-second decisions faced by their counterparts in specialist firearms units. “In terms of the police being approachable, in terms of the public being the eyes and ears of the police, officers don’t want to lose that,” he says.

Wake up Great Britain! You are in a war! Your police need to be armed and ready for battle.

Our Secretary of Defense, General Mattis, was recently asked if his strategy in dealing with ISIS had changed from the last administration. His response was a lesson in common sense. He said that the previous approach to ISIS was to push them out of certain territories and keep them there. General Mattis said his approach would be to surround the enemy and kill them. What a refreshing common sense approach to war. You kill the enemy! You don’t let them live to kill you at a later date.

Now, at some point down the corridors of time, we have lost our way. As you know, if you have read any of our previous devotionals, I attribute that to the removal of the Word of God from our schools and culture. If you have read any of the Old Testament where God instructed His people in battle you will see that General Mattis is just following God’s example on how to conduct a war:

Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. (1 Samuel 15:1-3)

The problem that arose here was that Saul (the original liberal thinker) did not do what God told him to do through the Prophet Samuel. Saul kept the Amalekite King alive and also kept the best of his livestock alive. He thought he knew a better way than God. Saul then tried to blame his people for keeping the livestock alive and said they wanted to use them to sacrifice to God. That didn’t fly with God. Saul’s disobedience cost him his kingship.

Enemies come in different packages. It could be the Amalekites or it could be pornography. It could be ISIS or it could be drugs or alcohol. The bottom-line is this. You have to completely destroy them. You cannot expect to be free from pornography if you keep porn in your house or keep access to porn. You cannot expect to be free from drugs and keep hidden bottles of opioids in your house. You cannot expect to be free from alcohol and keep liquor hidden all over your home. You have to get serious and destroy the enemy! You have to get rid of it and destroy all that stuff! Flush it!!!

We have to get serious folks! We have to go on the offense against our natural and spiritual enemies. The goal of our enemy is to kill us so wake up and smell the coffee. You cannot play with the enemy. He does not play fair and he is not going to change just because you try to be a nice to him. If you give him a ride in your car, he will eventually be driving it.
