Scripture for the Day (August 14, 2017)

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. (Isaiah 35:8)

Did you know that there is a Highway of Holiness that you and I can be travelling on? This is a spiritual highway, not a natural highway. This is a raised way, or a High-way, because God said:

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)

You can’t just stumble onto this High-way by mistake. Only certain people can travel on this High-way. The redeemed of the Lord can travel this way. The rescued of the Lord can travel this way. But the unclean cannot travel there and evil and demonic forces are not allowed on this particular road.

No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: (Isaiah 35:9)

This road is reserved for the wayfarers (the ones walking in the way) that take water to the dry and barren places. This road is reserved for those that are speaking hope and healing to those that are lame and lost.

Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble (weak/trembling/tottering) knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance (passion), even God with a recompence (reward); he will come and save (free/deliver/rescue) you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. (Isaiah 35:3-7)

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. (Isaiah 35:10)

We are not talking about the natural Zion here. We are talking about the spiritual City of God (Psalm 87:1-3).

For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:18-24)

What highway are you on???
