Scripture for the Day (May 23, 2016)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

There is a big difference between being “In Christ” and being “In Yourself”. The scripture plainly tells us that in ourselves we can do nothing. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5) Now, Jesus is not talking about natural things here. He is talking about spiritual things. You can obviously do a lot of things in the natural without Christ but those type things don’t advance the Kingdom and don’t require any type of supernatural anointing from God.

Just as information, Christ is not the last name of Jesus! Christ means the “Anointed One”. For you and I to accomplish the things that Jesus instructed His followers to do in Mark 16 you must be “In Christ”. That means you can only accomplish those things with the anointing of God. Let’s look at just a few of the benefits associated with being “In Christ”:

He Makes You A Brand New Person – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

He Opens The Scriptures To You – But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:14)

He Causes You To Triumph – Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

He Brings You Liberty and Freedom – And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: (Galatians 2:4)

He Brings You Boldness – For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves
a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. (1Timothy 3:13)

He Brings You Passion – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)

The bottom-line is this. What do you want your life to count for? You can stay “In Yourself” and be limited to all your natural and temporal accomplishments and failures or you can make a decision to be “In Christ” and partake of the supernatural eternal accomplishments available through Jesus Christ. Your choice.

I choose to be “In Christ”!!!.
