Scripture for the Day (October 20, 2017)
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39)
Good Morning, This is Cheryl. I know Ed usually writes to you every day, but I felt like I had a word of encouragement for you today.
I know that as we look around us it seems like the world has gone crazy. We are seeing things we have never seen before. All kinds of tragedies, things going on in the earth, people so mean, and things you and I know as truth are being called lies, and lies are being called the truth. Yikes!!! Sounds like what the Bible said would happen in the last days.
This is what I felt the Lord was speaking to me today as I was cleaning house. One of the things we must never forget is that this place is not our real home. Jesus came to give us everlasting life. He died on the cross to make a way for us to go back to the Father and to have an eternal home in Heaven (John 3:16). That fact sometimes gets lost as we walk through this crazy mixed up world.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 1:1-3)
You must also remember that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in YOU! You have been given authority on this earth. You and I are to be salt, light, ambassadors, reconcilers, servants, prayer warriors, and the list goes on and on. The point is that we are here for a purpose. We may not be able to fix everything or everybody, but we can allow God to work in us and then share that with others. The scripture says that love never fails. The scripture says that you can do all things through Christ. The scripture says that you are more than a conqueror. I guess what I am trying to say is that you can walk out this life with joy, power, authority, and the Love of God in your heart. You do not have to live in fear, doubt, dread, or any of the other things the enemy tries to put on you. Take a deep breath and roll all the things you cannot fix over on Jesus and let Him handle it.
Have you heard the song by Natalie Grant entitled “King of the World?” There is a line in the song that says, “When did I forget that you are the King of the World?” Trust Him, depend on Him, call on Him, praise Him, and worship Him. Don’t forget, you serve the King of the World!!!
Wherever you are today, just know that you have the King of the World on your side. He really does love you with an everlasting love. He is not mad at you and He has wonderful things to teach you, show you, and give you. Take a little time out of every day to read His Word and talk to Him. Cast all your cares on Him for He really does care for you.
We are praying for you!
