Scripture for the Day (May 30, 2016)

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

“Lord, send revival!” I’m hearing those words on the lips of Christians more and more these days. Matthew 9:37-38 says, “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

What do the laborers do? They preach the Gospel or Good News of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13-15 says, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”

The word of God says in I Corinthians 5:17-20, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

The us in verse 19 is everyone that is born again (the Body of Christ). We are all preachers who are called to go into the entire world and proclaim the gospel. In fact, Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.” The saints are to do the work of the ministry. We go to church to sit under ministry gifts to get equipped so we can go out as ministers of reconciliation and tell people God isn’t holding their sins against them. That’s the Good News!

It is important to share the word of God when talking to people. It is the seed (Luke 8:11) that will produce the harvest in the life of a sinner. Even if they reject you, you planted a seed that is imperishable. Romans 10:17 says, “That faith comes by hearing the Word of God.” Faith to be saved, healed, delivered, or whatever you need faith for comes from the Word of God.I Corinthians 3:5-8 says, “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.”

We are God’s Army on this Earth! We are His ambassadors. We are the laborers. It is time to strap on your boots and put on your armor. It is time for revival!!! Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. (Joel 3:14)
