Scripture for the Day (April 2,2018)

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:1-15)

What does “Real” really mean to you? Webster’s New World Dictionary defines “real” as authentic, true, genuine, or something that actually exists in fact. Let’s take that one step further and apply that same question to what is really real spiritually.

Sadly, some people do not believe that anything spiritual is real, true, or authentic. They just believe in what they see and hear with their own senses. They serve as their own God and believe only in the visible. Then there are others that believe there is an invisible world out there but have no clue how it works or if we have any authority in it. In other words, we have a very confused world out there that doesn’t know the authentic from the fake or the truth from a lie because they don’t know the real which is represented and defined in the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

I was once a part of that group that served as their own God. It is called lost! But on April 15, 1982 I gave my life to Jesus in a motel room in Washington, DC and my eyes were opened to what was really real. As I read the Bible the truth started to flood my mind and I was able to see the invisible. Did you know that everything that exists in this world was spoken into existence by God from the invisible and that everything in this world is temporal, including our physical bodies? On the other hand, did you know that everything in the invisible world is eternal? What that means
is that the things that are invisible are actually more real than the things that are visible. When you understand that, your priorities will change.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Here is the bottom-line! The visible world that you see, with all its sensual and emotional appeals, is not the real world. The invisible world is the real world. God’s Kingdom is the real deal and if we will set our eyes on the Kingdom of God first, and seek Him first, everything else we need will be added unto us. We just have to get things in the proper order.
That is the real truth!!!

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Colossians 3:2)
