Scriptures for the Day (May 2,2018)
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38)
If you want to know what God is like, and what He wants us to do on this earth, just look at the life and works of Jesus and what He said in His Word. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power to “do good” and “to heal” all who were oppressed of the devil according to Acts 10:38. The following are some additional scriptures that will help explain His calling and thus our own calling:
So Jesus explained himself at length, “I’m telling you this straight. The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what he sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does. The Father loves the Son and includes him in everything he is doing.” (John 5:19-20, The Message Bible)
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. (John 6:38)
And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him. (John 8:29)
For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say. (John 12:49-50)
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. (John 14:10)
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19)
Jesus only said and did the things that pleased the Father, and the Father was with Him and everything that Jesus did was what God wanted said and done. So, if you want to do what pleases your Heavenly Father, just do what Jesus did!!!
