Scripture for the Day (July 28, 2016)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

When you go to purchase something at a retail store the cashier is going to ask for some sort of payment. You are normally going to have to furnish either a credit card, check, or cash. That is called legal tender, which is the normal exchange mechanism that the world has set into place to purchase worldly goods.

The spiritual exchange mechanism is faith. Heaven does not care how much money, how much credit, or how much influence you have. God is looking at whether or not you have faith. Christian author Charles Capps described it like this, “Need is not what moves God; faith does. Vain repetitions do not move God; faith does. Much speaking does not move God; faith does.”

As we read through the various accounts of miracles in the Bible we see over and over the importance of an individual’s faith:

And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. (Matthew 9:28-29)

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be
impossible unto you. (Matthew 17:20)

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. (Mark 5:34)

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. (Hebrews 11:1, Amplified Bible)

Whatever we receive from the spiritual (invisible) realm comes to us only by faith. As an example, you and I are saved by faith, not by worldly works. You have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and you have to confess that with your mouth (Romans 10) to be born-again. That is the beginning of your faith walk and it does not change as you grow spiritually.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23)

Faith is a heart thing, not a head thing. It is something you believe in the deepest parts of your being, not some formula you activate just when you need something. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The Word of God is the seed. Faith is the life that springs up from that seed which bears much fruit.

Faith is very important!!!!!!
