Lessons From Trials

Scripture of The Day
"Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing."  (James 1:2-4, AMPC)

No one wants to go through trials. However, they are a fact of life according to Jesus himself.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)There is a couple of things I have learned through recent trials. Those two things are endurance and patience.  God did not bring you this far to leave you.  He has a plan and a purpose.  Remember that we live in a fallen, broken, sin-sick world and what happens here affects our lives.  So trials will come.  If you and I will stand and not give up, if we will apply God's Word to our circumstances, and if we will trust God knowing He is with us we can walk through whatever this world dishes out and have victory. If you are going through some trials presently, let me share some scriptures with you that will help:Ephesians 6:11-13Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.Psalm 27:14Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.Romans 8:25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
