Scripture Of The Day

Don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work. (James 1:4 TM)

By Cheryl Henderson ( Excerpts from Jentezen Franklin)

As I have gotten older, I am recognizing the seasons of my spiritual life. There are times when I will have a short, intense burst of growth (springtime) and then a longer period of stabilizing and testing (fall and winter).

We all have problems and issues we want God to remove from our lives. It is OK to pray for a miracle, but don’t be disappointed if the answer comes through gradual change. Over time, a slow, steady stream of water will erode the hardest rock.

I have gotten very frustrated with the pace of my progress. I have come to know that God is not in a hurry. I think about Moses; it took God 80 years to prepare him, and then he had to go another 40 before the children of Israel reached the promised land. My husband used to say, “There are no instant men and women of God.” It takes time to mature. That is not an easy process.

With God, delay is not denial. Just look at how far you have already come, not just how far you have to go. He is still working on all of us. Just keep moving forward, a-step-at-a-time!
