Be Genuine

Scripture Of The Day

I opposed him . . . . because he was. . . . .wrong (Galatians 2:11) NIV

I heard a story about Will Rogers. A well-known manufacturer asked Mr. Rogers to give a testimonial for his pianos. Rogers never endorsed anything he did not believe in. This is what he wrote, “Your piano is the best I have ever leaned against.” You see, the long-term benefits of shunning hypocrisy far outweigh any short-term comfort level. Here’s why: Your life influences others. Never underestimate the effect that genuineness has on your family, co-workers, and friends. A Life of integrity stands out in sharp contrast with a world that tries to squeeze us into its mold. Hypocrisy destroys your testimony. We must live what we preach. If not, people will lose respect for us and the One we represent.

I love the fact that Paul could never be dubbed a phony because he made it a practice of calling it like it is. He confronted Peter when he had to. He stood up to him face-to-face. It takes backbone to speak up. (Galatians 2:11)

Throughout history, those known for character and integrity were the most admired and influential. Plato said. “He who would be blessed and happy should first be a partaker of truth, then he can be trusted.” To be genuine is not what the world does in this hour. Social media portrays reality, but it is not. Being real and genuine is how God wants us to live.

Do you want to inspire confidence and respect in everybody who knows you? Be genuine.
