Scripture Of The Day
Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright, in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright [in heart]. - Psalm 33:1, The Amplified Bible
I go to a church that has anointed praise and worship. By that I mean, it is in excellence, the sound is excellent, the singers are well-trained, and they can sing in excellence. They have a calling on their lives to praise and worship. When we engage in praise, I feel the presence of God. According to our scripture today, it is the most appropriate, becoming thing that you can do.
The Word says that He inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3) That means He loves it. He steps into the room by way of the Holy Spirit. The room changes when He enters. I wish I knew how to put into words my experience in Praise.
God’s idea of appropriate praise and your idea may well be two very different things. Read Isaiah 6. This is how they act in the throne room: they shout in there until the doorposts shake! The Bible says that when they do, the glory of the Lord fills the house. I feel like Heaven is going to be very different than the churches we go to today. Just think about it, when you get to Heaven, you’re going to be praising like that too! Don’t wait until then, start now!
Decide today that instead of praising God the way you like, you are going to start doing it the way He likes. Begin to release those praises joyously, uninhibitedly. Don’t wait until you get to heaven to praise God with all your being. Do it now. He deserves it!
