Scripture Of The Day

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. ” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

I was listening to a video the other day, and I have to share with you what was said. Sammy Rodriguez, a powerful preacher of the Gospel, was telling a story about an interview he had at a church. This board of men sat at a table and said to him, “We only have one question for you, Sammy.” Sammy said, “ Ok, what is your question?” The leader said, “This church leans to the left. Which way do you lean?” Sammy said that his mind was being flooded with all kinds of thoughts. All of a sudden, the Holy Spirit spoke to him and said, “Say it.” Sammy said he argued with God in his mind for a second. “But God, I won’t get this if I say it.” The Holy Spirit responded, “Say it, Sammy!” Then Sammy spoke up and said, “I don’t lean. . . .I stand!”

Wow! What an answer! What would you have said? The world we live in is pulling us to lean this way or that way. Scripture tells us to stand in 1 Corinthians 16:13 - Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men (and women), be strong.

We cannot allow the world to pull us into a state of being double-minded. James 1:5 says, “ A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. “ According to Christianity, spiritual standing is defined as an individual's spiritual condition or level of belief. I am telling you that our spiritual condition is being challenged every day. When you are at a Red Sea moment, I encourage you with this scripture: “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. Exodus 14:13

I encourage you to stay in God’s Word. Allow your roots to go deep. When the world tries to pull you to the right or the left, when people try to get you to lean, stand therefor.
