Overcoming Faith

Scripture Of The Day
Paul and Silas . . were praying and singing, and the other prisoners heard them (Acts 16:25)

As I ponder the events of the last couple of weeks, I’m not sure I even have words to describe my feelings. A precious man was assassinated before our very eyes. The events following Charlie Kirk’s death have been astounding. The whole world has awakened to a revival. He was a man of overcoming faith! He was obedient to the call on his life, and he was faithful to step out and do it.
I liken his faith to that of Paul. Beaten and thrown into a deep, dark prison with his friend Silas, they began to sing and pray. Not quietly, but loudly! The other prisoners heard them. The Message describes it like this: “ The other prisoners couldn’t believe their ears.” Talk about impact! Paul’s attitude impressed them before his religious beliefs did.
Jentezen Franklin says, “Anybody can sing in church, including hypocrites. But praise in prison. . now that’s something else!” You might ask, how did they do it? How did Charlie Kirk do it? Perspective! Paul said, “Everything happening to me in this jail only serves to make Christ more accurately known, regardless of whether I live or die. They didn’t shut me up, they gave me a pulpit. . . (Phil. 1:20-21 TM)
So what do you do with men like Paul and Charlie? They were beyond threats. Their strengths came from within and were not diminished by things without. That looks like Overcoming Faith to me!!
I want to be like that!
