Perfect Peace

Scripture Of The Day

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

By Cheryl Henderson

Peace in this verse is the Hebrew word shalom. God will keep you in everything the shalom implies: health, happiness, well-being, and peace. The word "mind" in Hebrew is translated as yeser, which means creative imagination. Isaiah's thought is that he whose creative imagination, the seat of plans and ideas, is truly founded on God, will enjoy peace in health, happiness, and well-being.

Isaiah 55:12: For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace.

We must keep our minds completely focused on God, so we can stay in the place of peace, and we can be led and controlled by the peace of God.

Colossians 3:15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

The Amplified Bible says, "And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]."

Philippians 4:7 says, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

So, the peace of God will direct you in decisions, lead and guide you in direction; guard your heart and mind, and, lastly, will make your enemies love you.

Proverbs 16:7 says, "When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."

Thanks to the God of all Peace, the Prince of Peace, and the Spirit of Peace, for the Gospel of Peace.
