Serving God's purpose in his own generation... Acts 13:36

In Acts chapter 13, the ministry of missions is born. Men were sent out to specific areas to preach the "Good News." I am not sure you know this, but we are still in the book of Acts.

In Paul's sermon, He is spelling out the Gospel, and he used David as an example to show how David served his own generation by the will of God.

As I am in my late seventies, I realize that time is short and we can only take other people with us to Heaven. You and I are no different than those guys in the Bible. We have been given power, anointing, and God's Word. We are equipped for the job!

Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, he told His disciples, " . . . to go tell the world about me. " You and I are given that same commission. We are to take His Good News to our generation. We are to serve our own generation as we share His Word, His love, His peace, His comfort, and His joy.

That can be done in so many ways. David served his generation by the will of God. Pray and ask God where and how you are to go and tell the world about him.

I have been known to share Jesus in the line at the grocery store, at the Post Office, or by paying for someone's meal, or sending a card to someone. As you pray, God will show you the ones all around you that need to know about Jesus.
