Stop! Think! Solve!

Scripture Of The Day
Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:19) NASB
Did you know that every problem that frustrates and angers us has a solution? We can usually find that solution if we take out the emotions and take a look at the problem from another perspective or point of view.
I knew a guy who came home from work so upset, angry, and frustrated because one of his best supervisors quit to take a better-paying job. My friend had poured a lot of time and training into this person. After my friend calmed down and began to think about this situation, he began to see another side to the story. He thought, What would I do? I probably would have done the same thing. The next morning, my friend talked to his supervisor and suggested that they give this employee a raise and more flexible hours so she could be with her daughter more. Then the supervisor agreed and the employee accepted.
Another friend became so frustrated that her son’s toys were continually strewn about the room. She was tired of scolding them. She calmed herself down and began to think of ways to make this easier. She bought very nice storage bins, a preprinted chart, and a stopwatch. She made picking up the toys a game, and the boys loved it.
What is bothering you today? Rather than explode, stop and think. How can I change things?
