Sweet Peace

Scripture Of The Day

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)

By Cheryl Henderson

One of the special Christmas ornaments that we have used for years is a door hanger that we put on our door that simply says “PEACE”. In the times of turmoil that we live in, you can have peace in your heart and home.

One of the names of Jesus is “Prince of Peace”. We want you to know today that regardless of whatever storm is raging in your life, it can be stilled by the Prince of Peace. If He told you to go to the other side, then do not lose your faith just because a storm arises. The storms come to pass, not to stay. You can be in peace even when all about you are in turmoil, confusion, and fear. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. (John 14:27)

In this Christmas season, we challenge you to be an agent of PEACE. The Bible tells us that we are called to peace and are to follow peace, be led by peace, be at peace, be ruled by peace, and live in peace. You and I can not control everybody else’s reactions, but we can control our own. We can set an atmosphere in our homes, in our businesses, and in our relationships. Let that atmosphere be one of peace, starting in this very special season.
