The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17

I have heard it said that the deepest human fear is the fear of being left alone. Don’t you know that our loving Father has assured us it will never happen? Jesus spoke this message right before he was arrested and subsequently crucified. I feel like he knew that his disciples were going to feel alone once he left. These words were to assure them that they would never be alone.

Jesus told His disciples that it was imperative that he should go so that the Holy Spirit could come and they would never be alone. In Jesus, they were blessed to have God with them. Then, in the Holy Spirit, they were doubly blessed. That promise still holds today.

Think about it, God’s presence is inside you and me every day to help us navigate this complicated world. Romans 8:14 states, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God". That means that you and I are never alone and never directionless!

Be encouraged today that the Holy Spirit lives in you, leading and guiding you. Take time to listen, pray, and read God’s Word.
