Scripture Of The Day
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord." Psalm 37:23
By Cheryl Henderson
At my church, we have a designated day and time to come to the church and pray for one hour. I really love this time. In the sanctuary, the lights are low, worship music is playing, and you are free to pray. Some walk and pray, others sit, others get on their knees, and others lie prostrate. The point is that the world is shut out and this becomes Holy ground to me. Today, while I was there, I heard in my spirit the words, “In-Step.”
The phrase "in step" means moving your feet to the same rhythm as someone else, or being in total agreement with other people's ideas and goals. In scripture, "in step" is a phrase that means to match your actions, choices, and pace with God. It is a word picture for moving together in harmony. It tells believers to follow the Holy Spirit's lead every day. In Galatians 5, Paul writes: "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit".
Life can feel uncertain when we cannot see where the road leads. Yet God sees every step ahead. He lovingly directs those who trust Him, not always revealing the whole path, but giving enough light for the next step.
Being in step with God means listening for His guidance, following His Word, and trusting His timing. Even when we stumble, He remains faithful to steady and restore us. Our journey may not always be easy, but it is never outside His care.
Today, surrender your plans to God and ask Him to order your steps. You do not have to know everything—just stay close to the One who does.
