“Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” — Luke 8:22

Jesus told His disciples, “Let us go to the other side.” They stepped into the boat, but along the way, a storm arose. The waves began to fill the boat, and the disciples became afraid. Yet Jesus was with them.

Sometimes God gives us a word about where we are going, but the journey there doesn’t look anything like what we expected. Storms may come, circumstances may become frightening, and we may wonder if we are going to make it. But Jesus was not surprised by the storm—and He is not surprised by yours.

The disciples focused on the storm, while Jesus was resting in the boat. They woke Him and cried, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and everything became calm.

The storm did not cancel Jesus’ word: “Let us go to the other side.”

Whatever storm you are facing today, remember that Jesus is in the boat with you. Keep trusting His Word. Keep moving forward. If He said you’re going to the other side, you’re going to make it!
