Passing Through The Waters

Scripture Of The Day
“When you pass through the waters I will be with you and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you. (Isaiah 43:2)

A while back, I wrote a devotional titled “Going Through the Go-Throughs.” You know—those unexpected, day-by-day challenges that show up uninvited. You’re simply walking in what you know and doing what needs to be done, yet things arise that you never planned.
It got me thinking about what God’s Word says about going through difficult seasons. We all know that people throughout the Bible faced trials—many far greater than what we may be experiencing right now. I haven’t been stoned, flogged, beaten, or thrown into an inner prison in chains. I haven’t been swallowed by a great fish or cast into a pit. I have not been crucified.
What we are facing in this hour is not easy. It’s uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and often without a clear “how-to” guide. It can feel like uncharted waters. Yet, just like those in the Bible—who didn’t have Scripture as we do—they had to walk by faith, trusting what they knew about God and the word He had spoken to them.
As I looked deeper into the Word, I noticed a pattern. Over and over, God gives movement instructions: go up, go in, walk through, pass through, go forth, go and tell, walk in, walk after. Sometimes “going through” means doing all of the above. Other times, it simply means standing firm and walking in what you already know—trusting the Holy Spirit within you.
I have yet to find a scripture that tells us to be fearful, anxious, or worried. And yet, if I’m honest, I have felt all of those things at times on this journey. That’s part of being human. But here’s what I know for sure: I know my God. I have His Word. I know He is with me, and He will bring me through—no matter what.
So whether you are going in, going through, going forth, or simply putting one foot in front of the other—remember this: you are not alone. If you belong to Jesus, your victory is already secured. We win!!
