The Rain Is Coming

Scripture Of The Day

“I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!” — 1 Kings 18:41 (NLT)

Have you ever found yourself in a desert place? Maybe things aren’t going well in your marriage, relationships, job, or finances. Elijah knew what it was like to face impossible circumstances. He was the man who called down fire from Heaven, yet he found himself in the middle of a severe famine.

What did he do? He got down on the ground, put his face between his knees, and began to pray. He shut out the distractions around him and focused on God. He kept praying until he heard the sound of rain—even though there was no rain in sight!

That’s the power of faith. Faith hears what God has promised before our eyes can see it. What God speaks to your spirit may seem completely opposite to what you see happening around you. The bank account may say one thing, your circumstances may say another, and the reports you receive may all point in the wrong direction.

But when you know God has given you a promise, don’t let what you see cause you to doubt what He has spoken. Like Elijah, keep praying, keep listening, and keep believing! Don’t focus on the drought.

Focus on the God who sends the rain. Keep believing, even when you cannot yet see the evidence. The Rain Is Coming!
