Scripture for the Day (September 4, 2018)

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans
8:1-2)

Where does condemnation come from? What does it mean? How do we gain freedom from it? These are all important questions you need to have answers for if you ever intend to walk with the Lord in freedom and power. The Greek word for condemnation is “katakrima” which means adverse sentence or to judge against.

The next thing a Christian should understand is the “Parable of the Sower”. In this parable Jesus teaches us that the fouls of the air (Satan) comes immediately to steal the seed which is the Word of God.

And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. (Mark 4:15)

You must understand that it is Satan’s job to steal the Word. How does he do that? He does that through sowing doubt and condemnation. He says things like the following. That’s really not true. You don’t really think God would use you for that. You’re not educated enough. You’ve never done that before. You are going to make a fool out of yourself. And then if you make a mistake he will say, so see there I told you that you would fail. You are definitely not cut out for this. And on and on it goes.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren. So, you just need to know how to distinguish between Satan’s voice and God’s voice and then you need to know how to respond.

When God speaks to you it will always be in love and not condemnation. He will edify, encourage, and build you up. He will never try to tear you down like Satan. Will God correct you? Of course He will, but it will be done in a loving manner with the intent to help you grow and mature.

Probably the people that are most susceptible to these condemnation attacks from Satan are preachers. I know because I am one and I hear these voices all the time when I make the least little mistake like misquoting a scripture or saying something in a non-loving manner. I know, we preachers are supposed to be perfect but guess what, we’re not.

This is how we should respond to the enemy. I am a child of the King and a Spirit walker. There is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus and walk after the Spirit. Satan, you are liar and the Father of lies. I will not accept your lies. Nothing, including your condemning lies, shall separate me from the love of God. I will serve Him with all my heart. I will not shrink back or turn back. If I make a mistake I will ask for forgiveness and He will forgive me. I have been made a King and a priest and no devil in Hell will detour me from my assignment.

In other words, you have to get into his face with the promises of God. If Jesus had to do it in the wilderness then you and I will have to do it also. Be bold! Be courageous! Do not receive any lie or condemnation from the enemy!!!
