Scripture of The Day

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

The scripture says that God rejoices…to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.  I might ask you, “What is in your hand?”  What are you good at?  What do you want to do in your life and for the Kingdom?  Usually, certain things bring us to compassion.  Things we cannot get off our minds.  Maybe those things are God’s calling on your life.

As I minister to hundreds of people, I see that most people do not realize that God has given them gifts and talents that are not being used.  I encourage you today to take a good look at yourself and ask God to reveal to you what He has put on the inside of you.  You don’t have to measure up to some big evangelist, preacher, teacher, or personality.  The scripture says, “despise not small beginnings.”  Just walk in what you know and God will show you the way.

To me, the plumb line that Zerubbabel held in his hand represents the righteousness of God.  It is a tool builders use to keep things lined up and level.  That is God’s Word to me.  I encourage you today to hold the line.  Hold the line in your marriage, hold the line in your family, hold the line as you walk in this crazy world, on your job, in the community, in your church.  Holding the line is how we show the world that we are salt and light.  Walk in God’s Word, speak God’s Word.  Let your light so shine.
