Scripture of The Day 2/16/2022
And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. (Isaiah 35:8)
Years ago when Ed and I first started out in the ministry, the Lord spoke to Ed and gave him Isaiah 35 and told him we were going to be on the highway as evangelists. He told Ed that it would not only be a highway that you traveled on, but a High-Way. God reminded Ed that His ways were higher than ours. We actually bought a cargo van and had a sign on the side that looked like a highway sign that read Isiah 35.
Isaiah 35 has always had great meaning to us. Here are a couple of points from Isaiah that can help you as you travel down your highway with the Lord.
1. You can’s just stumble onto this High-way by mistake. Only the redeemed of the Lord can travel this way. The rescued of the Lord can travel this way, but the unclean cannot travel there and evil and demonic forces are not allowed on this particular road. (Isaiah 35:9)
2. This road is reserved for the wayfarers ( the ones walking in the way) that take water to the dry and barren places. This road is reserved for those that are speaking hope and healing to those that are lame and lost. (Isaiah 35:3-7 and 35:10)
I love verse 35:3-5 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, be strong, fear not: behold your God will come with vengeance, ( passion ), even God with a recompence (reward); he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped…Then the lame man shall leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing….
Oh my, how wonderful! Check it out, what road are you on?
