Scripture of The Day 2/22/2022
“For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth” (2 Peter1:12)
As Ed and I began in ministry and in our walk with the Lord we had certain scriptures that were like guide posts. They helped us make decisions, helped us press into God’s presence, helped us solve disagreements and problems, and they helped us stay in unity. The place of unity is the place of power!
Everything we ever did and everything I do now is all about people getting saved, delivered, and set free. It has always been about telling people about Jesus and how good our God is. The foundation and motivation of our heart is always about those we minister to.
One of the first things we had to submit to is to honor each other. (Phil 2:3 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself”) As you honor others, God will honor you.
We often quoted this scripture, ” The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” This is good instruction when you don’t know what to do. When you are asked about your faith, just tell others what Jesus has done for you.
When the enemy tries to to mess with your mind, or you get anxious, fearful or doubtful, speak Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.”
I know you know these things, but as the Word says, in 2 Timothy 1:6, I am putting you in remembrance of these things, to stir you up and for the gift of God to be stirred up in you! (Cheryl’s paraphrase.) Be stirred up today!
