I heard a story the other day about a young man that was given a Christmas gift. The box was very small and he could not imagine what was on the inside of that box. He could hardly wait to open it. He thought, ” Maybe a pair of cuff links , a gift card, or maybe some sort of jewelry? When he opened the box he was so surprised to find keys to a new car!! That is a great example of being bigger on the inside than on the outside.
You have the potential to be bigger on the inside than on the outside. You already know that Jesus lives on the inside of you. Christ in you, the hope of glory. This hope is not a wishful thought, but the confident, expectant, joyful knowledge that we are being changed by God and will one day see Christ face to face, having been conformed to His image.
You now have the ability and power to walk in all that Jesus is. Not that you are going to be perfect, but as you walk in His love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control, you are the gift that is bigger on the inside than on the outside. Don’t you know that as you walk out your life in your sphere of influence that a better you, betters others. I think that is one of our callings, is to make the world better, especially in this hour. What is on the inside of you matters!
