Scripture of The Day
Instead of your [former] shame you shall have a twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach [your people] shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double [what they had forfeited]; everlasting joy shall be theirs. (Isaiah 61:7)
I have talked to so many people lately that are hurt, wounded, and rejected. It breaks my heart. This world we live in is so messed up and so are many of the people living here. It is so sad to me that so many do not know the loving, caring, compassionate, and powerful God that I know.
Are you walking through some of those things? Our scripture for today talks about a recompense. That word means reward or payments for past hurts. Joyce Meyer likens this to compensation…like workers comp. If someone gets hurt on the job while working for God, He will take care of us. If someone comes against us, hurts us, or wounds us, we need to keep serving God and doing what is right and He will make sure we get due compensation.
Joyce calls it, “double for your trouble.” So you can let go of the hurt, rejection, wounds, and release forgiveness for those who hurt you, and walk in freedom. No matter what you have lost in your life, God will restore. That’s a promise! As you trust Him, He will make sure you “shall eat in plenty and be satisfied.”
