Scripture of The Day
This I know: the favor that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favor rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees. Psalm 75:6-7
I have always loved the story of Daniel. He was appointed as one of three presidents over the princes of the land. He was appointed this position because of his excellent spirit. The other princes wanted to take him down so they tried and tried to find fault with him. The only thing they found was that he obeyed God. Oh that we could live with such an excellent spirit that others could not find fault with us, that all they could find is we obeyed God.
You know the story, that the King made a decree that you could not make a petition of any God other than the King, and if you did you would be cast into the lions den. Of course Daniel continued to pray to God three times a day with the windows open. (Daniel 6:10) He was reported to the king and thrown into the lions den. Daniel served God, not man and God was with him and protected him and delivered him.
As we serve God with a spirit of excellence, God, not man will protect us, and deliver us and promote us at the right time, right place, and with the right people.
