Scripture of The Day 3/9/2022
For if you forgive people their trespasses, [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment] , your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14 AMP
As I have reached my 70’s I am so thankful for every day I am on this earth. Life has become so precious to me. Now, I am not afraid to go to Heaven nor am I afraid to die. However, I am thankful for each day I get to tell others about how good my God is and that there is hope for them!
I have come to learn that every day I spend angry, bitter, or offended is a wasted day. I do not want to waste a single day of the life I have been given. The world we live in today seems to be so angry, impatient, and offended. People seem to be stressed and tired. But that is not how Jesus teaches us. He has a better way.
For me, I want to encourage you to make the most of each day. Choose to see it as a gift from God. Choose to see each day full of promise and possibility. The Bible says that His mercies are new every morning. Each day can be the day that you change someone else’s life, by a warm smile, a helping hand, cooking a meal for someone, praying for someone, or just being a friend. We are called to be light. Don’t waste any time on anger or unforgiveness.
I have had others to offend me, hurt my feelings, or make me mad. But this is where we choose to live God’s way and not the world’s way. The Good News of the Gospel, is that our sins are forgiven, God has had mercy on us. Anything God has given us He expects us to extend those things to others.
Make every day count. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy. (Jude 1:20)
