Scripture of The Day

For Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  (Isaiah 9:6)

Have you ever thought about the fact that when Jesus came to earth, He came bearing gifts? As we are in this Christmas season, we are all about getting the right gift for the right person. Getting all those presents wrapped up and under the tree. But in reality, we got the greatest gift of all when Jesus was born. Oh, the gifts He came to give to us!!

One of those gifts was Salvation. In Ephesians 2:8-9 the Bible tells us that salvation is a gift from God, and it came through Jesus. He made it possible for you and I to be reconciled to God by the shedding of His blood. When we leave this earth, we will go from life to life!

Another gift Jesus gave us is Hope. Hope is confident expectation. Hope given by God, through Jesus works together to give us a confidence that the world cannot give. Hope in Jesus never disappoints. (Romans 5:5)

One of my favorite gifts that Jesus brought us is Peace. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. To me the peace that Jesus gives us is a supernatural peace that is there for us in the midst of our trials. That peace guards our hearts and minds.

Another gift is a ministry. We are all called to the ministry of reconciliation. According to 2 Corinthians 5:18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” You and I are called to tell the world about Him. Helping others to be reconciled (born again, saved) and living a brand-new life in Christ! I love this part!!

There are so many more gifts that Jesus brought us. But I only have 500 words. So, as you prepare for Jesus’ Birthday remember He is the greatest gift of all!
