Scripture of The Day
Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
(2 Corinthians 8:11)
Our scripture for the day is one of my favorites. In fact, as a little girl, when I did not want to do something my mother would say to me, “Young lady, it’s time to perform the doing of it!” Well, those words came right out of the Bible!
As we begin this New Year, I know that God has imparted into your hearts His destiny for you. It’s that thing that burns in you. It’s that thing that drives you to compassion. This is your year to perform the doing of it! It is God that puts that desire in you. Believe it.
Now it is important to know that not everyone will share the same excitement for your dream. Remember the story of Joseph. His brothers were jealous of him and hated him for his dream. But the the truth is, where there is no dream or vision, there are no accomplishments.
I am not saying that you have to go out and do some big thing or be on TV, or write a book. (Although all of those are good dreams.) Your dream can be anything that God has put in your heart to do. And when He imparts that dream or vision in you then He will equip you to accomplish it. You must know that He has given you talents and abilities by way of His grace to do the task, all that remains is the doing of it.
Just remember in James 2:26 the Word says, faith without works is dead. Take your God-given assignment, the dream He has given you and perform the doing of it!
