Scripture of The Day
” For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
We live in the Bible Belt of South Georgia. There are churches on every corner, which is not completely bad. However, it seems many of our churches teach sin consciousness versus righteousness consciousness which leaves Christians weak and powerless. Romans 8:37 says that we are more than conquerors. How can we be more if we are full of guilt and shame because we are reminded constantly of how sinful, unholy, and unworthy we are. This is why Jesus came and hung on a cross for us. He came to set us free from guilt, sin, shame, sickness, poverty, and much more. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but we must walk in what Jesus did on the cross. He left us here to do what He did. He told His disciples to go and tell the world about Him. We can’t do that if we are all bound up with sin consciousness.
