Scripture of The Day
Be careful how you think: your life is shaped by your thoughts.  (Proverbs 4:23) TEV

Today is the last day of January.  The first of the year really begins right now.  New Year is over, and it is time to get down to business.

Behind everything you do-there’s a thought!  So, if you want to change your life, you have to change your thinking.  Imagine riding in a speedboat with an automatic pilot set to go east.  If you suddenly decide to head west, you’ve 2 possible options: one is to grab the wheel force it to head in the opposite direction from where it’s programmed to go.  By sheer willpower you could overcome the autopilot, but you’d feel constant resistance. Your arms would eventually tire, you’d let go of the wheel, and guess what?  The boat would instantly head back east, the way it’s internally programmed to go.

That’s what happens when you try to change your life through will power: “I’ll force myself to eat less, exercise more, quite being disorganized, etc.”  Yep, will power can produce short term change, but it creates constant stress because you haven’t dealt with the root cause.  The change doesn’t feel natural, so eventually you give up, go off your diet, quit exercising, and revert to your old patterns.

Thank God, there is a better way! Change your copilot-the way you think!  Listen: “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”  (Romans 12:2) Change always starts in your mind.  The way you think determines the way you feel, and the way you feel determines the way you act.  “But how can I change the way I think?” you ask.  By reprogramming your mind with God’s Word.  Try it, it works!
