Scripture of The Day 3/28/2022
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you, will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
In the early days of our walk with the Lord, we were just learning how to put the Word into action in our lives. We were learning how to pray as individuals as well as praying together. Our Pastor knew Ed had just given his life to Jesus. One night in church the Pastor stood in the pulpit and said, “Brother Ed, why don’t you pray for the service?” Shaking in his boots, Ed stood up and prayed about everything but the service. It was a great prayer, but Ed said that when he sat down the devil sat down with him and the condemnation began…”who do you think you are? You can’t be a Christian, you don’t even know how to pray….and on and on. When we got home from church Ed went straight into the bedroom and shut the door. I heard him praying. He felt so bad. He felt like he had let the Lord down and not represented Him well. After a while he came out with a smile on his face.
He said God spoke to him and said, ” I have delivered you from alcohol, I have saved your soul, I have changed your heart, Why are you concentrating on the things I’m not finished with yet?”
All this weekend I have heard the words, “I’m not done!” Even in church yesterday we sang a song and some of the lyrics were, “If I’m alive, I’m not done.” Is Jesus alive? Yes He is! He is not done.
When our kids were young, they sang a song in church called, He’s still working on me. Don’t you know that is so true. Don’t allow the devil to put you under condemnation. Tell him, “It is written, in Romans 8:1 there is no condemnation to those who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Don’t concentrate on what He is not finished with yet. Praise Him for what He has already done in you, knowing He is still working on you. He said you would do greater things than He.(John 14:12)
Believe Him, believe His Word, and know He’s still working on you and He’s not done and neither are you!
