Scripture of The Day 3/31/2022

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)

As I see it, it is impossible to study and understand the work of the Holy Spirit without first coming to know Him as a person.  He is the third person of the Trinity.  He is not an option that we can take or leave. The Holy Ghost is God!!  He is a divine person, worthy to receive our adoration, our faith, our love, and our entire surrender to Himself.

He has distinctive characteristics of personality, such as knowledge, feelings, will, and emotion.

According to R. A. Torrey, there is no passage in the entire Bible in which the personality of the Holy Ghost comes out more tenderly and touchingly than in Ephesians 4:30, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”  Here grief is ascribed to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is not a blind, impersonal, influence or power, that comes
into our lives to illuminate, sanctify, and empower us.  No, He is immeasurably more than that.  He is a Holy person who comes to dwell in our hearts, one who knows fully every act we perform, every word we speak, every thought we entertain, even the most fleeting fancy that is allowed to pass through our minds.

He is our teacher, our comforter, He is that still small voice way down in your soul that lets you know when things are not right, He is that voice that tells you to step out in boldness.  He is the one who empowers you to do things you would never attempt on your own. Jesus said He had to go in order for the Holy Ghost to come.  He is God on the inside of you and I.

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (Acts 1:4-5)

My favorite scripture is in Acts.  I have always loved this prophetic Word.  Look around it is coming to pass before our eyes.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: (Acts 2:16-18)

Just receive the Holy Spirit as He is being poured out on you in this hour.
