Scripture of The Day 4/6/2022

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”  Ephesians 4:31-33 NLT

I have always heard the saying, sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt you. That’s not true. Words can hurt deeply. The Bible says that life and death in the power of your tongue. So words have power.

The truth is, our words are supposed to minister grace to the hearers and build people up. People should be better off because we’ve spoken to them. Unfortunately, I think a lot of times we would be better off if we would keep our mouths shut.

In talking about words without malice and being tenderhearted, please note that love is not rudeness pretending to call itself boldness like some do. Our words need to be gentle and full of love.

Here are four words that will help you and I stay in love: Not I, but Christ. Galatians 2:20 Actually says, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”… KJV Meditate on these words and keep them rolling around in your heart. These words will help you through life. next time you wonder whether or not you should say something, these words will rise up and answer your question.
