What are you determined about today? Many Christians today need the grit and determination to hold onto their faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The word determined means to be decided, resolved and settled. To be a determined Christian is to be resolved and settled as a Christ-like believer of God (Proverbs 4:25).
Even though Determination is looked at as a gift from the Lord by many, I see it as a “made up mind.” The Bible tells us that we need to be single minded. We cannot be double minded, for if we are we will get nothing from God. In fact, the Bible says that a double minded man is unstable in all their ways. (James 1:8)
Have you ever tried to diet? Every woman I know has done some kind of diet. So here’s the thing, when I set my mind on doing the diet plan and make up my mind to do the plan (be determined), I loose weight. However, if I try a diet and kinda do it sometime but not all the time, I actually gain weight! That is a perfect example of being double minded.
Jesus was determined to surrender Himself completely in the Garden of Gethsemane, despite any human fear and anxiety, into the will of His Father for the sake of our salvation. Jesus was determined to die for our sins and rise from the dead submitting Himself to God’s good plan.
Be determined today. Have a made up mind. Whether it be your walk with the Lord, your marriage, a business, or whatever you pursue, Be Determined!
