Scripture of The Day 4/28/2022
But the Lord called to Adam and said to him, Where are you? He said, “I heard the sound of you walking in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself” And He said, “Who told you that?…” ( Genesis 3:9-11) Amp.
I have precious friends who run a discipleship program for those with addictions. It is called Total Freedom and it is located in Ocoee, Florida. They have both men and women of all ages. I am sure they could write a book on the experiences they have encountered of the years.
As they take in new folks there is an orientation that they all must go through. Guy Iannello, the man that runs the program with his wife, Cate, is also the pastor of a church which all are required to attend. Each person comes into the program with their own history and upbringing, or the lack thereof. As Guy and Cate begin to introduce them to God’s Word many of them will argue about what they believe. Guy’s first question is, “who told you that?” Many times their belief system comes from a grandmother, aunt, uncle, or even a preacher who did not teach the Word. As times goes on Guy and Cate teach the truth of God’s Word and require them to study for themselves. God’s Word is truth.
If you will remember in Genesis 3 Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I have always thought up until that time they were clothed with God’s Glory. When they sinned the glory was no longer there and their nakedness was exposed. God asked Adam, “where are you?” Adam said, “I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself.” And God said, “Who Told You That?”
Sin always brings in fear, shame, sickness, poverty, and many other issues from the devil. It is important in this hour to know, that we know the truth of God’s Word. If you have any belief system that does not line up with what God said, throw it out! Even some of our old traditions and gospel songs do not line up with God’s Word. I encourage you today to know God’s Word for yourself and if anyone asks you, who told you that, you can tell them it comes straight from God!
