Scripture of The Day
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation. (Isaiah 32:18) NKJV
In times past it was considered that mostly men struggled with stress. However, women are catching up fast. Stress from pursuing perfection, looking a certain way, attempting to do it all, isolating themselves, never saying no, being unable to relax, and having time with God. This is not how God wants you to live. He said, “My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation.” Here are two ways you can reduce your stress level.
- Pad your schedule. Since everything takes longer than you think, having enough time to complete the job helps reduce anxiety. Whenever you are under the gun, a good rule of thumb is to allow 20 percent more time than you think you will need.
- Trade the Mercedes in for a Ford.
A Study of more than 8000 British households found that those who maintained lifestyles beyond their means were more prone to stress-related illness. Solomon says, “He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house.” (Proverbs 15:27) And Paul adds: “Some want money so much that they have given up their faith and caused themselves…pain” (1 Timothy 6:10) CEV That does not mean that God does not want you to get ahead in life. He wants us to keep our priorities straight. - Joyce Meyer says, “Enjoy where you are on the way to where you’re going.”
If you are stressed out today, just pray and ask God to renew you and help you to always put Him first. Ask Him to help you find your place of rest.
