One of the names of God is Jehovah-Jireh. It means the Lord will provide. There are so many stories in the Bible where God provided. In the story of Abraham putting his son on the altar and just before Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son an angel of the Lord stopped him and as he looked up he saw a ram caught in a thicket. (Genesis chapter 22)
On the very night Jesus was betrayed, He asked His disciples, “When I sent you without a purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything?” And they said, “Nothing.” God provided the food, clothing, and money that these first evangelists needed when they set out to tell the world about Jesus. The same is true today. God provided what His servants needed to serve Him.
The Lord will provide everything a Christian needs to tell unsaved friends about Jesus. Whether it’s something material or spiritual, obvious or hidden- the right book to loan or true insight into what that one needs to hear-regardless of what is needed, the Lord will provide it. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work. (2Corinthians 9:8)
Be encouraged today. You serve Jehovah-Jireh, your provider!
